Everyone loves picking up a delicious Bunnings Warehouse sausage sizzle after spending time scouring the aisles of the beloved hardware store. Well, one Bunnings customer's latest discovery has reminded fans they're easier to get than ever.
A Sydney shopper has shared her elation at the fact that her local Bunnings Warehouse in Eastgarden accepted her mobile payment, making it simple to get herself a snag on the way out from the beloved shop. She even shared a screenshot of the transaction from her bank app, happy with her $3.50 purchase.
Bunnings Warehouse has long had mobile payment options, with the system in place since 2021. This is in addition to its cash payment system, which has remained a constant for all community sausage sizzles.

"We offer a free mobile payment option to community groups fundraising through sausage sizzles at our stores, providing an easy way for them to maximise fundraising and offering customers a cashless way to pay for their snag and support their local community group," Bunnings General Manager - Operations Matt Tyler told 9Honey.
Contrary to popular belief, the Bunning's sausage sizzles are not held by the store itself, but are actually held by not-for-profit groups who use Bunnings' facilities to fundraise for their charities.
On the Bunnings website, it says, "Not-for-profit organisations are able to book a sizzle with their local store - they need to bring volunteers and adequate supplies and Bunnings helps with the rest."

For a long time, most Bunnings Warehouse sausage sizzles largely relied on cash payments. Card payments were at the discretion of each community group that holds their sausage sizzle, and while having only cash options may have added to the nostalgia, it made it frustrating in a largely cashless world.
Since 2021, community groups have had the option to take advantage of Bunnings' free mobile payment service and bring their own EFT machine along with them, with the company incurring transaction fees to ensure the community groups get 100 per cent of all the funds raised.
For over 25 years, the Bunnings sausage sizzle has provided grassroots community groups a simple way to raise funds, to find out more head to: In Our Community - Bunnings Australia
