How To Make Money In Harvestella

Jan 12, 2024

Whether it's battling beasts or cultivating carrops, here are some great ways to get more Grilla.

Harvestella combines the well-loved farming sim genre with its JRPG story and gameplay, allowing you to use your farm to fund your adventures. When you’re starting out, though, you might wonder what the best ways to make money (known as Grilla in the game) are with so many different options.

You’ll want to make sure to put the items you plan to sell in the shipping bin outside your house before the day ends, so you can make a profit. However, there are plenty of other ways to make money that you might not have thought of, too.

There are several places in Harvestella where you can fish. First, though, you’ll need to head to the Lethe Village General Store to purchase the Fishing Knowledge book for 800 Grilla.

This gives you access to a fishing rod, and allows you to fish whenever you see a fish-shaped icon in rivers or in the ocean. There's a variety of common fish available to catch, which you can ship if you’re in need of some quick cash.

However, if you’re looking to make a considerable amount of money, you can also take on the Rare Fish Delivery side quest after unlocking the Suspicious Lake on your farm, located near the Water Biome. This quest requires you to catch and deliver nine rare fish, and as a reward, you will earn a lot of Grilla.

Speak to the Sahagin to begin the quest, and it will give you hints on where you can find each of the nine rare fish.

Aurelian

"I heard rumor about rare fish dat come out when you catch lots of certain fish."

Giant Salamander

"I heard rare fish live in village nearby. When season become fall, rare fish come out."

Monotaimen

"Apparently, rare fish live on dis hill, too. It's not me though. Don't try and fish me."

Jejune Trout

"Glub. Someone told me best day for mountain stream fishing is day after rain."

Twilight Cherry Salmon

"Glub. I hear there's rare fish dat likes to view flowers at nighttime."

Siren's Servant

"In town in south, dey say something appears when it rains."

Ice Faerie

"Some rare fish live underneath thick ice. Glub... I don't wanna go to ice place."

Cardinal Goldfish

"I heard dat you can find bizarre-looking rare fish in bizarre-looking cave."

Rainbow Harp

"Some rare fish live in far away sea. I wonder what dey look like."

You can catch and deliver the fish in any order, but the amount of Grilla you earn will go up the more you deliver.

Be warned: these fish live up to their rare title, and it may take many attempts for them to spawn.

If you're looking for a more consistent way of earning money from fishing, you're best to wait until you have some spare time at the end of a day, use the rest of your energy to fish whatever you can, and then put it into the shipping bin.

When curating your farm, you'll want to make the most of the crops you choose to grow each season. Some will grow in two or three days, which looks tempting if you want Grilla quickly, but you'll make the most money back if you spend a little more on seeds that offer multiple yields, and will grow more produce after you harvest them.

The following crop seeds will produce multiple harvests, allowing you to make more Grilla if you ship the produce.

While more expensive initially, all tree saplings will also offer multi-yield produce, with the added bonus that you don't need to water them.

Selling raw produce straight after harvest is a good way to make Grilla quickly, but to rake in extra Grilla, you should reserve some of your harvests and use a processing machine to increase your profits. Crafting these also takes time and resources, so you'll want to invest in the best ones.

After speaking to the Renovator in Lethe Village and purchasing a Cluffowl Pen or a Woolum Pen, you can raise livestock on your farm. If you keep them fed with Cluffowl Feed and Woolum Feed, the creatures will give you eggs and milk respectively.

However, if you also make sure to pet them every day and grow a bond with them, Cluffowls and Woolum will produce higher quality eggs and milk. This sells for more once shipped.

Additionally, you may also find extra products on the ground that you can ship. The closer you are with your livestock, the more chance you have of finding the following items in their pens:

These items have no purpose other than for selling.

You can save money on Cluffowl Feed and Woolum Feed (it costs 100 Grilla per portion from the Conellu Merchant) by using a Feed Maker.

Insert grains (such as wheat) to make Cluffowl Feed, and insert grass or vegetables to make Woolum Feed.

The most efficient way to make money by far is completing side quests. When you help NPCs with their problems, they will give you a reward, and this can often be 1,000 or even 2,000 Grilla at a time.

Some side quests take longer than others to complete, but if you're in a town buying seeds for your farm, make sure to look out for exclamation points (!) on your map or above the heads of NPCs — they may just have a quest for you that will net you the Grilla you need.

There are numerous quests within each town, so if you complete these, you will soon have enough money to upgrade sections of your farm, buy seeds and keep your livestock happy.

Once you've unlocked the Kitchen in your house by paying the Renovator to fix it, you will be able to cook meals using the produce you harvest and items you forage. These meals will primarily be used to heal you in dungeons, but you can also use them to make Grilla if you complete Food Delivery requests.

In the four main towns, Lethe, Nemea, Shatolla and Argene, as well as Abandoned Eden, you will be able to deliver meals in exchange for Grilla. Head to the inns in each town to begin the quest, and an inn worker will provide you with a list of meals to deliver to them.

The amount of Grilla you earn will increase with each delivery you make, so if you make a lot of meals, this is a great way to make money.
