WAMMCO chief executive Coll MacRury said the company's "thoughts" were with the victim's loved ones at this devastating time.

"In relation to the terrible incident on Saturday, firstly our hearts and thoughts are with the family of the person who died," MacRury said.

"A full investigation by WorkSafe WA is now underway, after which we will have more information."

WorkSafe investigators travelled to the scene, 290 kilometres southeast of Perth, on Saturday, before returning on Sunday.

The WorkSafe spokesperson said it is too early in the probe to draw any definitive conclusions.

There have been 11 work-related deaths in WA so far in 2022/23, with 18 reported in 21/22, 17 in 20/21 and 18 in 19/20.
